Crypto-gaming: Now and the future
A pervading human quality over history has been innovation and innovative ways of entertainment, with each new trend, we see a new way to keep ourselves entertained and that’s more so with the advent of Crypto-gaming, The crypto-gaming industry is worth billions of dollars due to blockchain technology enabling genuine, real-world trading of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
There are even digital economies that pay you for playing. Crypto games are changing the cause of the whole gaming experience, with players now getting actual financial rewards being tokenized as fungible and nonfungible tokens. With a lot of GameFi in the ecosystems today catering to different needs of the players today, we need to provide a way where players and platforms can have a smooth and seamless interaction.
Play-to-earn players need to have a platform that caters to all their needs when making transactions. Joining guilds, buying NFTs for gaming, claiming rewards and other needs by gamers needs to be seamless. The space is fast growing and is believed to be the future of DEFI.
Even platforms like pegaxy, reNFT are putting out arts for rent for gamers to use because not all players can buy these NFTs they need to use to have the optimal experience. How do we manage all these transactions seamlessly, their token, and their NFTs.
Recognising the hitches
Wallets are used to perform transactions like hold tokens, send, receive and do series of other things. In scenarios where games are made on different networks but items like weapons can be used across these platform, it means that the wallet to make these transactions seamless would need to have a multi chain system. Wallet providers have to be a step ahead of Gamefi, because ultimately this would happen, where things like weapon would be used cross chain, and players would need to buy, lend and even make cross chain transactions like brudging tokens.I personally would prefer to add all my NFTs to my wallet and manage from one place rather than having to scan o an external platform to see NFTs associated to my wallet. Also this makes actions like transfer of ownership of these arts easy and less cumbersome.
PLAUSIBLE SOLUTION
- Creation of multi-chain wallets:
Wouldn’t it be nice to see all my NFTs as well as the platforms i have them listed? Add new NFTs to my wallet, send and recieve NFT from other token users. Especially for holders of alot of NFTs, you can easily lose track and would need to start scanning platforms to know what your own. Managing all your tokens from one multi-chain wallet improve the entire crypto experience.
- Optimized transaction feedback:
The Standard methods of transaction feedback my majority of wallet providers is the kind of “trust that we would do it as soon as possible, when we don’t know, and when in doubt, check Etherscan” type of feedback. This is not good enough, especially if we aim to onboard newbies to crypto in general. Better feedbacks and progress invites trust. Progress bars are good visual markers of progression that improves users experience when using products. The proper use of it reduces users curiousity as to what happens next, how long before completion, or when will an action end.Using progress bar or circle increases the trust level. and statistics shows that it drives conversion and improve user experience.

Conclusion
There are a lot of issues currently affecting the way wallets are being designed that can be improved on. These changes happen gradually because the web3 foundation was heavy on development over UX, reason why we have a lot of functionality that is not well presented to users, and it takes a lot of guides and tools/tips to help users navigate the ecosystem. I believe my recommendations on wallet improvement can help in improving the overall user experience of not just gamers but crypto users and enthusiasts. The ability for users to easily manage their NFTs across various listing platforms and easily carry out transactions, getting appropriate feedback when doing so would cause incremental growth in adoption because one of the reasons why we don’t have as many users as we should have is lack of trust for the tech, feedback and progress bars solve this.
